Quicktime Podcasts On My Xbox 360 - Thanks To My Zune!

Posted on 6:23 pm by Paul Colligan

I didn’t see this one coming.

But then again, that’s the magic of this experiment, isn’t it?

I had originally thought that until iTV comes out, I had no way to watch (MP4/Quicktime) Podcasts on the TV, minus some sort of computer to television connection.

Turns out that (on the Zune), and I found this in the fine print:

When synchronizing H.264 and MPEG4 video content, the video is automatically converted to a 320×240 WMV file with audio formatted as Windows Media Audio (.wma).

Which means you can plug your Zune right into your Xbox and pull the video files off of it.

Which means, finally, I can watch Ze Frank on my Xbox.

Life is good.

One warning: It’s 320×240, not 640×480 - so I prefer my WMV streaming from my media center whenever possible, but now I have a solution for the Quicktime only Podcasts.

2007 is going to be fascinating.
