Only a few more days until the experiment begins …

I bought an Xbox 360 for this project for two reasons: A) the television and movie rental features in Xbox Live and B) the Media Center Extender capabilities built in. As time progresses, I’ll review both independently.

However, I’m very aware that there are other (and cheaper) Media Center Extenders out there. One very well reviewed on is the Linksys Media Extender WMCE54AG.

As luck would have it (or a sign from above?), Woot had them today (12/27/2006) for $99. Yes, they’re refurbs - but I don’t care in the slightest.

So I ordered one and will be running it in the bedroom - unless of course the Xbox fan is just too loud.
