Illegal Downloads

I’ve received a lot of email (and comments) from readers suggesting that this experiment is nothing more than an exercise in “paying the man.” There isn’t a show I couldn’t download illegally (and usually in HD) and it makes no sense to play the games if iTunes, Amazon Unbox, or any of the others.

Yes, dear readers, you are right. I could grab any of my favorite television shows as illegal downloads but then the experiment does nothing and we learn nothing as a result. This is about figuring out what is right and/or wrong with the system we have today (complete with suggestions here and there about how to make it better).

In this year of living digitally, I will download my television shows and movies, legally, and will report on the process. I’ll leave the reporting of illegal downloads to someone else.
