The Unit Is Back / Long Live The Unit

David Mamet brought class to television when he launched The Unit on CBS. I’ve dug the show since day one (I grew up on a military base in Germany) and it has only gotten better.

The show was the one reason I almost didn’t do this experiment. It hasn’t been available for sale and I really did want to keep up with my dear friend, Snake Doctor. You’ll need to watch the show to understand.

The show started up again this week and guess what, she’s on “InnerTube” (CBS’s streaming video engine). Nice.

I watched the first segment yesterday and got the usual single commercial. Show lists at 45 minutes so I’m assuming it is the same throughout. When I came back today to watch the rest, it asked me if I wanted to start from the beginning - or continue.

It actually tracked what I had watched - and is keeping up with me.

Heck, my Video iPod doesn’t even to do that for me.

InnerTube, so far has the best streaming quality and goes full screen without banners, etc. I give that a big thumbs up. It requires Windows Media Player - so it only works on a PC, but I’ve got Parallels running so all is well.

So, at this point, there ain’t a show I enjoy that I can’t watch. I can’t do all of it in front of my television set - but I’ll deal with it at this point.

And man, The Unit is a great show. After Battlestar Galactica, this is easily #2 for me.
