The Online Movie Rental Worst Case Scenario

Posted on 9:27 pm by Paul Colligan
When you rent a movie online from someplace like Amazon Unbox, you only get to play the file for 24 hours. It’s part of how the whole “rental” thing works.

If your download of this temporary file is interrupted (like a system freeze) - most systems can’t start the download again. Most systems would be scared that you already had the file and were “ripping them off.”

I rented Lassie Come Home for the girls tonight. Our Media Center PC crashed halfway during the process. Yuck.

I rebooted the Media Center and guess what?

It just resumed the download.

Classy Amazon … classy.
