About The Year of Living Digitally
Posted on 7:52 pm by Paul ColliganThis is a test of many things. I have lots of questions I hope to answer here.
- Is there anything I really can’t get online if I try hard enough?
- Are these Internet video on your tv devices ready for “prime time?”
- Will companies that know I’ve got a REAL testing ground here, not a lab with a bunch of nerds, send me product knowing that I’m going to tell the truth?
- Could I hand my remote control over to the grandparents when they babysit one night?
- When Video Podcasts and independent content get the same space as the “regular stuff,” which will win my viewing time?
- Will a diet of $1.99 ala carte programs end up costing me more or less than my monthly cable bill did - after all those taxes, and box rental fees, etc.?
- Which of the different devices/options work best? Is this an area that Apple owns? Will xBox be king? What about Microsoft’s Media Center software - does it perform like it says it does?
- When a family has to chose every television show ahead of time, will they watch less crap? Will they watch the same stuf over and over again? Will their habbits change? Will we read more? Listen to music more?
- Can one family’s story maybe affect future versions of products?
